A number of other devices were planned that were cancelled prior to launch likely due to the poor reception of the Windows RT operating system.
Zac Bowden at Windows Central posted a review of the Surface Mini on October 1st 2019.
Back in 2014, Microsoft came incredibly close to launching a mini Surface alongside the Surface Pro 3 but ultimately decided to cancel the device just weeks before it was set to go on sale. It's a device many people were looking forward to at the time, so its cancelation was a massive blow to fans. Since then, the device has leaked in a few images and renders, but an in-depth look at the devices' hardware has never been done, until now.

The Microsoft Surface RT tablet was released alongside Windows RT, but Nokia wanted to have their own take at it.
Meet Vega, Nokia’s stepping stone into the world of tablet computing
Zac Bowden at Windows Central posted a review of the Nokia Lumia 2020 on November 19th 2018.
Codenamed "Illusionist", the Lumia 2020 was going to be Nokia's second Windows RT tablet. However, following the launch of the Lumia 2520, Nokia ended development on the smaller, 8-inch device. While not much is known about why Nokia decided to kill the product, many speculate the decision was influenced heavily by Microsoft, who was also building a similar, arguably better tablet with pen support; something the Lumia 2020 didn't have but the Surface Mini would (had it too not been cancelled).
